Carolin Adam
 Carolin Adam attended the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she received a degree in conference interpreting in 2003. She worked as a freelance conference interpreter from 2003 to 2007, first in Germany and then in Chile. Since 2007 she has taught interpreting and translation at the University of Concepción, Chile, where she was named an assistant professor in 2008. As coordinator of the Interpreting Section, she was part of the committee that worked on the entrance exams for the interpreting students. She started a PhD in linguistics at the University of Concepción in 2008, focusing on interpreting studies and psycholinguistics.

Yannik J. Alexandre
Yannik Alexandre is a full-time freelance translator (Dutch and English into French) with nearly 40 years of experience. She specializes in three areas: technical (industrial and scientific), artistic (fine arts), and general communication (publicity, business, websites, etc.). She translates a wide variety of documents, including user manuals, reports, minutes, presentations, and artistic exhibition catalogues. She has managed a small translation agency in Ghent, Belgium, since 1993. She has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Translators, Interpreters, and Philologists since 1981.

Talia Alster
Talia Alster, a former student in the Classics Department at Hebrew University, is currently a student in the "Amirim" honors program of the humanities faculty, as well as a medical student at the Hadassah Medical School. During high school, she translated parts of Saint Jerome's Questiones in Genesim from Latin into Hebrew and English as part of her analysis of the implicit thesis of his Hebrew-to-Latin translation of the Bible, for which she won a Citation of Excellence from the Minister of Education.

Josephine Bacon
Josephine Bacon, a translator and author for 50 years, is member of Institute of Translation, American Translators Association and Israel Translators Association. The books she has written that have been published commercially range from history to fungi. She has also translated about 100 books for commercial publishers in the U.K., France, and Germany. She first published her own translation of a book in 1983. The next translation of a book was published in 2008, which won the World Gourmand Prize for book translation.

Christian Balliu is the director of the Institut Supérieur de Traducteurs et Interprètes (ISTI) in Brussels, where he teaches the history and theories of translation. He is also in charge of the course of translation studies at ISIT in Paris. A former member of the FIT's Committee for the History of Translation, he is now a member of the scientific committees of several international reviews in translation studies. Eduardo Barros-Grela is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of English at the Universidade da Coruña, Spain. He is a graduate of the State University of New York (MA and PhD), where he taught Spanish culture and literature for four years (1998-2002). Nahla Baydoun
Nahla Baydoun is a Lebanese translator. She graduated from the Paris-based ESIT School of Translators and Interpreters in 1990. She has a PhD in translation studies from the Sorbonne University (2005). From 1991-2008, she was an assistant professor and the chair of the Translation Department at the University of Balamand - Lebanon, as well as a freelance translator. Terena Bell is chief executive officer of In Every Language, a language services provider offering translation, interpreting, and localization. Her work with the company has been formally recognized by two Kentucky governors. Diane DeTerra has extensive experience in conference interpreter education and management for government and non-government institutions, business, and industry. She is the former dean of the Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. A member of Professional Conference Interpreters Worldwide (AIIC), she also helped found the Conference Interpreters Group in London. She is currently a senior research associate for translation and interpreting at the National Foreign Language Center at the University of Maryland. Xiu Dong is a teacher in the School of Foreign Languages at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. She holds a Ph.D Degree in translatology from Shanghai International Studies University and did research at the University of Pennsylvania as a visiting scholar. Dr. Rivers has more than 15 years of research, development, policy and program evaluation, and management experience in culture and language for economic and national development. He chairs ASTM Technical Committee F43, Language Services and Products, and the US Technical Advisory Group to ISO Technical Committee 232, Training in the Informal Sector. He leads ITS technology projects in requirements determination and integration of culture and language for national security applications, including acculturation and identity conflict among foreign populations and foreign language speaker identification. He has led multiple projects on the integration of culture and language, and is an international authority on Central Asian identity and language politics. As Chief Linguist of the National Language Service Corps, Dr. Rivers has overall responsibility for advising the Director on language and culture in all facets of the NLSC, to include client language requirements, NLSC membership standards, NLSC proficiency standards and their certification, NLSC relationships with the language communities, and NLSC multilingual and multicultural marketing and recruiting. Roberto A. Valdeon
Roberto Valdeon is a professor of English studies at the University of Oviedo, Spain. He has written extensively on the field of translation studies for such journals as Target, The Translator, Meta, Babel, Across Languages and Cultures, and the International Journal of Applied Linguistics. Rene Venegas
René Venegas is a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile. He teaches linguistics and semantics for undergraduate and postgraduate students. His research interests include academic discourse, the study of meaning with computer tools, and the development of computer tools for text analysis. He has participated in several research projects as principal and co-principal, with special interest in the description of academic and professional discourse using a corpus linguistics approach. He has published several articles in journals and chapters in specialized books both in Spanish and English. He is the vice-president of the Chilean Linguistic Society.

Hari Venkatesan
Hari Venkatesan is an assistant professor of translation in the Department of English at the University of Macau. Hari has been teaching translation and interpreting at the undergraduate level for the past five years, as well as translation theory and translation technology at the graduate level. He also provides simultaneous interpreting (English-to-Chinese and Chinese-to-English) services for academic lectures organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs at the University of Macau. She is currently a literary translator and has translated several German and French novels and essays for major Italian publishers. Renee Von Paschen
Renée von Paschen was born in Canada and studied at the University of Vienna in Austria. She is a professional literary translator, interpreter, and poet, who has also taught literary translation seminars in Austria and Canada. Her translations of well-known Austrian and Canadian writers have been published in Europe, the U.S., Canada, and Australia, and her own poetry has been also published in the U.S. and Canada. She has done several film translations, including The Vampire Princess (Smithsonian, History Channel, ARTE, ORF), which won a U.S. Cine Golden Eagle Award.

Philip Wilson
Philip Wilson is a PhD researcher at the University of East Anglia, where received an in literary translation after a career teaching in comprehensive schools. He is currently translating Alexander Neville's 1575 Latin history of Norwich poems by Michel Deguy and a historical novel by Rebecca Gablé. Rosana N. Wolochwianski
Rosana N. Wolochwianski holds a licenciate degree in translation from the National University of Rosario in Argentina. She is a member of the American Translators Association, and has been an ATA-certified English-to-Spanish translator since 2001. She is the founder and director of Centro de Estudios e Investigación sobre la Traducción, a local center for translation studies and research. She is also a member of the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies. She is researching machine translation, and has presented her preliminary findings at several national and international events in the past five years.

Susan Yun Xu
Susan Xu is the head of the Translation and Interpretation Program and a lecturer in the School of Arts and Social Sciences, SIM University, Singapore. Her research interests include translation studies, translation technology, discourse analysis in translation, systemic functional grammar, translation pedagogy, and contrastive linguistics. She pioneered the project of developing the Certification Examination for Professional Interpreters in Singapore. Caixia Yang is an associate professor of literature and translation in School of Foreign Languages at Renmin University of China, Beijing.
